Speaking about princes and princesses – it is time to decide if you will decorate your kids room with some certain theme like Disney, barbie, spider man, winx or any other cartoon themes that your child adores. Advantage of themed kids room bedding is that it is not not expensive to change bed sheets that to paint walls in another colour. Ones you kid loves another hero, you just change his bedding.

4. Kids room curtains. The same is about curtains for kids rooms. There are a lot of themed curtains for sale. Sometimes bedding and curtains are sold like a set with some curtain theme. Changing curtains is also not expensive and you can change your kids room’s design just by replacing curtains.

5. Kids room decor. Cars for boys, dolls for girls, we always think standard. Forget about it. Ones furniture and bed is ready, let your child to do all the rest organization. Toys, posters, flowers and even shelves for them! Carpet or rug – maybe themed too.

You, as a parent have to think about how secure is his room, the other things let your child think. Even if the posters are disgusting to your mind, do not think they will stay there forever, you kid will change them one day. Help your child to part his room in to areas like playing and studying areas. Buy some containers for toys and games, do not allow kids belongings to be dusty, it is not healthy – but let him place some most favourite toys on the shelves.

Orange, yellow, green, beige, brown – he may like any. Boys are not like girls. Girls always try to stay childish as much as they can but boys want to look older than they are. Let he be. Let him choose the paint himself. It is a good idea to paint the walls first and then choose furniture and design according to the colour. Boys do not stick much to furniture and accessories but they do like certain colours. It will make your boys room decorating easier.

Boys room bedding. Even if you do not decorate the room with some certain licensed theme, still you can make the room themed – there is a big choice of themes like music, camping, cars, and so on. Some posters will never look old styled and cheap. They are boys. They are always eager to hang some favourite autos and music artists.  

Decorating ideas. Does your child want to look different from the others? Offer him some new theme, that does not need posters on the walls and useless empty boxes. Insects! Or maybe it will be animal, another than a lion – also a character of a cartoon. Furniture.  Buying new furniture to boys room is much easier that you think. This will be your investment and you want your money to work. Do not you? More shelves and boxes your new furniture have, cleaner your boys room is. Boys do not like to keep rooms clean. But dust may be harmful for health. On another hand do not make your boys room too dark. Even if your child is already a teen who likes rock, it is just a question of understanding in the family so you, the parent, can explain how room’s decor and lighting can affect his mood, feelings and life.

Decorating themes. You can just paint girls room in red and white and through some pillows for her girlfriends but really it is better to choose some certain theme for the room. Girls like dreaming and probably yours like some fairy tale or some favourite hero. Maybe she sees herself like a little princess or a brave mouse? The best is to ask herself what theme would she like? It is not only about television programs, she probably has favourite toys or games and a themed bedroom will be ideal in this case. By the way, themed room is always easier to decorate. When you do not know what really you and your child wants just paint walls in some neutral colours and buy some furniture. Then you can purchase a rug, curtains and bed sheets of some certain themes and your room is ready! You can change it anytime your child wishes.

Wall paint. What colour to choose for painting girls room? And the most important question – should we paint girls room in pink? Of course no. If your teen wants it, do it. If no, there is a big choice of colours for bedrooms and playrooms and if your girl’s room is in blue colours it never means she’s a boy. Ask her what colours she likes. Do not plan for future like ‘when you are 18 you will not like it’. You will just change the colours of her room when she’s 18. Remember, we all can have only one childhood. Let’s it be unforgettable.

Arts. Some parents think that posters and other applications to walls make room untidy but remember your childhood, did not you have any? My wall was full with posters of my favourite singers! Just think that you can make it more stylish than just using glue and spoil wallpapers. Why not to arrange some frames? Do not use glass, like frames for pictures. This can be dangerous in a child room. Just use sweet frames with suitable colours and texture. You can hang a wall mirror in the same frame and put some frames with family pictures on the dresser.

Pillows and rugs. When choosing a rug for your girls room, choose pillows too. Try to choose suitable colours so you can just through the pillows on it. There is no need in chairs in the room. Sofa and a couple of nice armchairs can look perfect but not in small rooms. It is difficult to decorate small rooms and a lot of furniture will just make the room smaller and darker. Pillows is a good decision both for decor and seats.

Yes, buying furniture, rugs, wallpapers and curtains in your child’s room can be a huge investment but on another hand you can never guess what you child will want tomorrow. Let her be happy in her own world. Let her decorate the room as she wants. Let her buy accessories as her friends have.
